The Coonamble Rodeo Association was formed in 1946 as a non-profit organisation with the aim to run an annual rodeo in Coonamble. Any profits that resulted from the event were then to be redistributed to local charities or organisations.
An active group of volunteers (covering a huge cross section of the community), forms the Committee of the Association, which is lead by a President, Secretary and Treasurer.
The Committee consists of 30 committee members, however the total number of volunteers involved over the weekend would be in the vicinity of 150 people.
Committee members help organise stock, clowns, judges, grounds layout, gate, pick up men, chute bosses etc. to ensure the smooth running of the event.
The Association is funded through reserves from previous years to cover the general running costs and relies heavily on sponsorship from corporate and local businesses to promote the event.
