A junior rodeo competitor is a person under the age of 18 years; competitors over the age of 18 are no longer eligible to compete in junior events.

Junior Steer Ride competitors must be 8 years of age and over. Junior competitors may continue to compete in Novice Events until they turn 18 years of age or win an open event.

All Junior Jackpot Rodeo

This segment attracts competitors as young as 3 years old and is a vital component in ensuring the sport continues down the ranks. It is heavily associated with the Nakadoo Rodeo School, based here in Coonamble, which teaches kids the sport of rodeo riding in a safe, professional environment.

All the entry fees (less insurance and affiliation costs) are returned to the competitors in the form of prizemoney.

  • Steer Undecorating
  • Saddle Bronc

Nomination fees include GST & Levies of applicable events. All events may be restricted due to stock availability. The committee reserves the right to alter the program at its discretion.

Safety

All Junior Competitors under the age of 18 must wear protective head gear when competing. Helmets should comply with current industry sports standards and failure to wear a helmet will result in a $20 fine for each occasion the competitor is detected.
